Announcement: David Burrows SMSF AAA Board appointment
David Burrows joins SMSF Auditors Association of Australia Board
Baumgartner Super Director, David Burrows, was last month invited to join the Board of the SMSF Auditors Association of Australia (SMSF AAA).
After a career in SMSF spanning more than two decades, David welcomed the opportunity to contribute to an organisation focused on representing the interests of SMSF auditors.
"I obviously feel very strongly about the valuable role SMSF auditors play in the SMSF industry,” David said, “Therefore it's important that audit standards are high and SMSF auditors are well-supported.”
“For me, it was clear an organisation working towards these objectives warranted my contribution.”
The SMSF AAA places an emphasis on providing training and guidance for its members but also has an objective to increase its advocacy work on members’ behalf.
“As co-regulators of SMSF auditors, it’s crucial that ASIC and the ATO have an open dialogue with the SMSF auditor population in a coordinated manner," David said. "This way, expectations are clear and the result will be better outcomes for all parties."
David has a particular focus on representing Victorian-based SMSF auditors and would love to hear from anyone with comments or suggestions.
