Sarah Scales is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in tax, super compliance advice and audit.
With consulting and management roles featuring heavily in her resume, Sarah is truly an expert in her field.
Sarah joined Baumgartner Super in 2021 following her role as Audit Manager at BPR Melbourne. As well as managing an audit client base ranging from accounting sole practitioners to second-tier firms around Australia, she is also charged with using her extensive history and background to lend input and insight to enhancing our audit processes.
With a career that has evolved from doing hundreds into thousands of SMSFs audits, Sarah has developed a helpful bedside manner for explaining intricate legislation and a polished delivery of audit opinions. She has a knack for developing strong professional relationships with accountants, having qualified and worked in public practice before transitioning to audit.
Bubbly Sarah is a self-proclaimed ‘SMSF nerd’ who says the detail and complicated nature of SMSFs works with her psyche. Outside the office, she redirects her eye for detail to being a talented paper crafter and card maker. The 1st West Waverley scout group also benefits from Sarah’s financial expertise as their Honorary Treasurer.
Sarah urges accountants to contact her as soon as SMSF audit questions arise, rather than wait until the annual May deadline.
