Belinda Taylor is a people person. From the time she started as a Graduate Auditor with Baumgartner Super, she has grown into a proficient and professional Audit Manager, and loves helping her audit colleagues to experience a similar journey.
She believes that the firm imbues a wonderful culture which the Directors have worked hard to maintain.
As Audit Manager, Belinda tandems with Sarah Scales to train and mentor the overall team. Also as part of her remit she has a wider business focus which involves her in business innovation and improvement projects and generally improving the team’s audit compliance procedures.
“I really enjoy working with the people that I do, and the culture and the environment we have is quite unique,” says Belinda. “Getting the best out of the whole team and working together motivates and interests me a great deal.”
“I ‘fell’ into auditing straight after uni and have only ever worked at Baumgartner Super, but what really attracted me was working for a bigger firm as part of a brand new division. When I started out I got to do some interesting activities to help with business development. The progression and level of involvement has kept me captivated ever since.”
Belinda enjoys the pace at which the audit sector changes and being able to keep her knowledge and understanding up to date. She is also a driver in the firm’s Wellbeing and International Women’s Day committees, which allows her to enhance the culture and help create a great place to work.
“I see that as a key part of my role — helping contribute and driving that as a Manager,” Belinda added.
“Whilst there is a strong focus on my technical learning, development and growth, I also love the people side of my role and look forward to the days when I’m based in the office.”
For Belinda, weekends are precious and a time for family to reconnect with nature on bushwalks, exploring adventures or trips to the family farm in Mansfield. Whilst exercise and keeping fit is a big part of Belinda’s routine, she can just as easily be captivated by an enthralling Netflix series when she gets some downtime.
Belinda joined Baumgartner Super in 2006 as a Graduate auditing self managed super funds. Since then she has played an instrumental role in building the team and helping profile the firm to the market leader it is today. She is a CPA and qualified CPA SMSF Specialist with extensive superannuation knowledge that goes beyond the mechanics of any standard SMSF audit. Belinda currently splits her time between our Kew office and working remotely and will always get back to you, so feel free to initiate any SMSF audit queries on which Belinda can assist.
